Request Copies of Public Records
Under the California Public Records Act (C.P.R.A.), you can access many public records from local government agencies. We aim to ensure transparency and provide the information you need. Contact the Town Clerk’s Office if you need copies of public records or official documents.
If a record is not protected by law, a state or local agency must give a copy to anyone who asks for it. The person must describe the record clearly and pay any copying fees. G.C. Government Code(G.C. §6253(b)).
When someone asks for a copy of public records, the agency has 10 days to decide if the records can be shared. The agency must tell the person if they will give the records or not, and explain why. G.C. Government Code(G.C. §6253(b)).
Note: You don’t need this form to request copies of Statements of Economic Interest. Government Code(G.C. §91008(b)) or Campaign Statements
