Department:

Under direct supervision, assists in conducting activities in connection with recreation and community services programs of assigned recreational or school facility; provides responsible childcare and/or customer service to program participants; and performs related work as required.

Requirements:
Equivalent to the completion of tenth (10th) grade and the ability to organize and supervise recreational activities for varying age groups. Must possess the ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and Town of Apple Valley staff. Must be 16 years of age or older; incumbents under the age of 18, who are required to attend school, must provide a California Worker’s Permit. Experience in sports, recreational activities, or working with children in a school setting is highly desired.

• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certificate (CPR) for infant, child, and adult and a Standard First Aid Certificate is required within two (2) weeks of employment offer.
• Must be available to work at least three (3) days per week between the hours of Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday (2pm-6pm) and Wednesday (12pm – 6pm). May also need to be available to work some evenings and weekends.
