The Apple Valley Town Council voted to keep control of the local animal shelter. They decided not to sell it to San Bernardino County. Everyone on the council agreed.
Town leaders decided it’s best to keep running the animal shelter themselves. They believe this matches what the community cares about—especially helping animals. By staying in control, the Town can keep its special programs and partnerships. These are made to help Apple Valley’s people and their pets.
“We’re grateful to our residents for engaging in this process and making their voices heard,” said Mayor Scott Nassif. “The Apple Valley Animal Shelter is more than a facility—it’s a community resource, and we’re committed to keeping it that way.”
