There is no better way to beat the desert heat than by spending time at the pool. The Town of Apple Valley offers many opportunities to do just that.
Swim Lesson Registration Day
Register for swim lessons at the Town's annual Swim Fair on May 18 from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. Apple Valley residents may sign up beginning at 7:30 a.m. The line will form at the gazebo between Town Hall and the Police Department. Signups for non-residents will begin at 10 a.m. or whenever the Apple Valley line is empty.
Proof of residency is required and can be verified with legal identification and a utility bill. Only a parent or legal guardian can register children for classes. Enroll carefully as no refunds, transfers or credits will be issued.
Water Festival
Celebrate the start of summer by making a splash at this year's Apple Valley Water Festival on Saturday, June 8 from noon to 4 p.m. at the Civic Center Park Aquatic. Enjoy games, water slides, a bounce house, pool time and more. Food vendors will be available. Space is limited so purchase your tickets early for $3 per person. Tickets are available at the Aquatic Center or Town Hall. Tickets will be $4 at the door if the event doesn't sell out.
Open Recreational Swim
Continue the fun all summer long. Bring the family and enjoy open swim sessions. Admission is $2 per child and $3 per adult per day from 12:45 to 3:45 weekdays from June 3 to August 6, and weekends from May 25 to September 22. Evening swim hours are available Thursdays and Saturdays starting June 6. The pool is handicapped-accessible. Passes are not required, but a pre-paid Quick Card is available that provides unlimited admission to open swim sessions during the 2013 season for $100 per child and $150 per adult.
