The Federal Emergency Management Agency's web site contains up to date information concerning all aspects of emerency management. It also contains a "kids page" which has photos, maps, and enjoyable kid-size articles.

CalOES

California Office of Emergency Services, or OES is the State's liaison with FEMA. Their site has information regarding earthquake preparedness, hazardous materials, current disasters and a host of publications for downloading.

California My Hazard Maps

Input your address into CalOES My Hazards and see the type of hazards of concern in your area.  This site also provides detailed information on how to mitigate the hazards.

American Red Cross

The American Red Cross web site has a host of linked sites with current information on specific recent emergencies both within the United States and overseas, emergency donation needs, and how you can help.

Citizens Corps
