Kenny Culbertson named Volunteer of the Quarter

Kenny Culbertson VOY 2011Kenny Culbertson has been a Reserve Deputy assigned to the Apple Valley Station for more than 27 years. His enthusiasm and initiative led to the creation of a specialized position within the Investigations Bureau where he has served for the past 17 years, often volunteering as many hours as a full-time employee. In total, his voluntary time amounts to about 30,000 hours.

Kenny initiates special enforcement projects, such as Welfare Fraud Compliance Operations, Recycling Center Compliance Programs and Metal Theft Suppression Sweeps. He prepares warrants, search warrants and other documentation that leads to criminal filings at a rate consistent with that of a regular investigator.

One recent investigation resulted in 69 felony charges relating to stolen social security numbers, identity theft, employer fraud, immigration fraud and the identification and deportation of undocumented workers illegally residing in the country.

Culbertson's tireless commitment and dedication to his community recently earned him the “Volunteer of the Quarter” award.
