The mission of Emergency Preparedness is to provide Townwide emergency management, leadership, continuity, and direction to enable the Town and its partners to respond to, recover from, and mitigate the impact of natural, manmade, or technological disasters upon its people and property.
The Department coordinates the interdepartmental preparedness, planning and training for the Town's Emergency Operations, its divisions and all Town departments. Additionally, it serves as the Town's emergency preparedness liaison with other municipalities, state and federal agencies, and the private sector; and performs related education and community preparedness activities.
