Apple Valley to host Community Cleanup Day
Apple Valley, CA – September 15, 2021: One of Apple Valley’s most cherished events is back after a year hiatus—the Town of Apple Valley Community Cleanup Day returns on Sept. 18.
“If you’ve been looking for an opportunity to volunteer and help our community, here’s your chance!” said Mayor Curt Emick. “Join your Apple Valley neighbors for a day of fun, community partnership, and volunteerism, as together we help clean up Apple Valley!”
Volunteers can join individually or create or join a group to help pick up trash around town. The Town is now accepting registrations from service organizations, schools, churches, clubs, businesses, teams, and individual volunteers, for this community wide event.
Upon registration, teams will be assigned a location to cleanup and provided supplies. Participants will also receive an event t-shirt and lunch, while supplies last. Adopt-a-Street volunteers will be assigned their existing street.
To register visit av.town/cleanup or call (760) 240-7880.
Joining the community wide effort, on the same day, the Town’s Community Enhancement Division will be stationed at Lion’s Park from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. to accept used tires free of charge. Tires with rims will be not be accepted and commercial dealers may not participate.
From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., sharps, televisions, computers, and other household hazardous materials will also be accepted at the Town’s HHW Collection Facility, located at 13450 Nomwaket Road between Powhatan and Ottawa roads.
Community Cleanup Day is made possible in part from the contributions of our community sponsors, including Apple Valley Choice Energy, CalRecycle, Waxie Sanitary Supply, Apple Valley Pizza Factory, and the Mojave River Watershed Group.
