Railroad Tie House - 21849 Waalew Rd.

Dr. Steele and his wife Lois designed and built a very unique building entirely from used railroad ties purchased from the Victorville Cement Company.  When completed in 1951, the small house consisting of a living room, kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom.  The structure became his chiropractic office for several years.  There were two other structures on the property. The main house which Dr. Steele and his wife Lois lived in a small cottage on the west side of the property served as  Mrs. Steeles' shop housing her looms and yarn, and other tools of her trade.  After being vacated by Dr. Steele, it was used as a rental property.
